Scooter Braun recently defended Taylor Swift after a 78-year-old U.S. politician said he hates her. The situation started when Donald Trump tweeted in all capital letters: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Scooter Braun, who has had issues with Swift in the past, responded on Twitter (now called X) saying, “Shake it off, Donald.” After Trump’s outburst, Kamala Harris’ team quickly replied with a statement that used references to Swift’s song titles.
“Donald Trump’s week of complaining and spreading conspiracy theories has made voters from all sides want to Forget That He Existed,” said Sarafina Chitika from Harris-Walz’s team. “People want to be Out of the Woods of the chaos and division of the Trump era.”
Scooter Braun, who is 43, had a dispute with Swift when he bought the rights to her old music, which affected her ability to perform her earlier hits. Braun is supporting Kamala Harris for President and used the situation to make a point about Swift.
On Sunday, right after Trump posted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on Truth Social, Braun shared a message on his Instagram Story, telling Trump to “shake off” his anger towards Swift and endorsing Harris at the same time. He wrote, “Shake It Off Donald. Kamala 2024.”
Trump’s anti-Swift post came just days after Taylor Swift endorsed the Harris-Walz ticket for president. Swift posted on Instagram that she would vote for Harris and Tim Walz, believing they would bring calm leadership. Her post quickly encouraged over 400,000 people to visit a voting website.
